Introduction

SmartsheetToolkit provides some useful functionality which is not available in Smartsheet. It connects directly to your sheets in Smartsheet through the internet and works similarly to how the built-in premium Smartsheet Apps work. Labor intensive & difficult Smartsheet tasks made easy!

Documentation And Backup Tool

This tool will create a detailed documentation of your smartsheets in a folder or workspace automatically! Sheet properties, column properties, formulas, single step automations, etc. will all be documented automatically for all sheets e.g. in a folder including subfolders. 

Why will this tool be a very useful addition to your collection:

• Documenting a Smartsheet solution (with several connected sheets) is a lot of unpleasant work. Because of the nature of this work there is also a higher risk of making mistakes.
• Keeping the documentation up to date is also a lot of work.
• Smartsheet does not allow the backup of formulas but only the data in the sheets when you request a backup. The only way to backup/document your sheets with formulas is to do it yourself.
• The automatic documentation is also a very useful tool to check the solution for errors. For example, you could easily search for the term '#ref' in the automatically created PDF documentation to find broken references, or to find wrong formulas, wrong column types, etc.
